As The Golden Bachelor moves into its fourth episode, one thing is already clear: this season isn’t just about finding love — it’s redefining what love looks like after 60.

Three episodes in, viewers have watched heartfelt connections unfold, emotional goodbyes, and authentic moments of vulnerability that remind us all that confidence, chemistry, and connection truly have no expiration date.

This season continues to shine a light on singles who are brave enough to open their hearts again, showing the world that love later in life can be just as meaningful — and even more powerful — than ever before.

One of my clients reminded me of that truth in the most real way. She sat across from me, teary-eyed, and said softly,

“I’m 57… who’s going to want me now?”

I smiled and told her, “Love doesn’t have an expiration date — just the courage to open your heart again.”

And now she’s dating someone we selected on Match — a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late for love, a second chance, and a reminder to believe again

Last year, I wrote about The Golden Bachelorette and the inspiring stories of love after loss and starting over — including 7 Takeaways from The Golden Bachelorette and 7 Tips for Dating the Second Time Around.

Now, with Mel Owens stepping into the spotlight, The Golden Bachelor reminds us once again that it’s never too late to find love — or to believe in it again

This season, the 66-year-old former NFL player and attorney is embarking on a new chapter — one filled with possibility, vulnerability, and genuine connection. His journey, along with the incredible women joining him, is reminding millions that love, laughter, and chemistry don’t have an expiration date.

    Love After Loss and Divorce

Many of this season’s contestants have been widowed or divorced. They’ve experienced heartbreak, reinvention, and resilience.

Their stories reflect a truth I see every day in my work as The Digital Matchmaker®: You can honor your past and still be open to your future.

When singles in their 50s, 60s, and 70s decide to date again, they’re not searching for perfection — they’re searching for peace, partnership, and shared joy.

    Confidence Is Ageless

“Age isn’t a barrier to love.” — Julie Spira, The Digital Matchmaker®

From the opening episode, it’s clear that these women radiate something beyond beauty — they radiate confidence.

They know who they are, what they want, and what they’re no longer willing to settle for.

In today’s dating world, that’s a superpower. Confidence at any age is magnetic, but in our fifties, sixties, and seventies, it becomes even more powerful — because it’s earned.

“Confidence is the new chemistry.” —Julie Spira, The Digital Matchmaker®

    Dating With Intention

This season also highlights something that younger audiences often miss: intentional dating.

Mel and his contestants are focused on emotional compatibility, shared values, and real connection — not instant gratification.

There’s no swiping or ghosting here — just meaningful conversations and genuine vulnerability.

As I often tell my clients, flirting with confidence and dating with intention are the keys to finding a real, lasting relationship — whether you’re in your 30s or 70s.

    Why This Matters

We live in a world obsessed with youth, yet The Golden Bachelor has flipped the narrative.

It’s showing America that romance doesn’t belong only to the young — it belongs to anyone brave enough to open their heart again.

Love doesn’t fade with age; it deepens.
    Chemistry doesn’t disappear; it evolves.
And the desire to share your life with someone special never expires.

    Real Love, Real Stories

In a TODAY Show segment, I joined Maria Shriver to talk about dating for women over 50 — and how small profile changes can make a big difference. Watch the full segment and read my dating tips for women over 50 here.

As viewers watch the new Golden Bachelor open up to love later in life, the message is clear: attraction isn’t about age — it’s about energy, confidence, and connection.

And that’s something I see every day in my work as The Digital Matchmaker® — when singles lead with openness and optimism, magic happens.

The popularity of The Golden Bachelor proves something I’ve always believed: the desire for love never expires.

Whether you’re 36 or 86 — my grandfather actually remarried at 87 — confidence, kindness, and curiosity are the real foundations of connection.

At this stage in life, singles aren’t dating to pass the time — they’re dating with intention. They know what matters: emotional intimacy, shared laughter, and mutual respect.

Your Second or Third Act in Love

As I coach clients navigating their second or third act in love — after divorce, widowhood, or years of focusing on everyone else — I see what happens when they give themselves permission to believe again.

Their light comes back. Their laughter returns. And before long, so does love.

If The Golden Bachelor has inspired you, take it as your sign it’s never late for love.

“Love doesn’t have an age limit — only a readiness limit.”—Julie Spira, The Digital Matchmaker®

Whether you’re recently single, divorced, or rediscovering yourself after loss, this season is proof that your story isn’t over — it’s just getting started.

Your second or third act in love might just be your most beautiful yet.
